Antono Amodeo is a Cardiac Surgeon with thirty years of experience, Surgical & Medical Director of Heart Failure Unit at Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome a leading center in Europe in pediatric cardiac surgery, heart, lung transplantation and ventricular assisted devices. Director of the Guch Unit at Catholic University of Rome. In his clinical activity, he has performed thousands of congenital heart surgeries and implanted more than 120 pediatric VADs. He was the pioneer of the VAD program in Duchenne patients as destination therapy  and in implantable vads in small patients.

His scientific activity is mainly focused on:

• clinical aspects of VAD therapy,
• engineeristic models to simulate patient specific haemodynamic and VADs effects to develop new VADs
